Rhythm Tips
Internalize the pulse first. Before tapping, listen to the full count-in and feel the groove. Let your body start moving with the beat before you engage your hands.
Start slow, then increase tempo. Accuracy at 70 BPM is more valuable than sloppy playing at 140 BPM. Gradually increase the tempo only when you can hit consistent "Perfect" grades.
Subdivide mentally. For complex patterns, count subdivisions in your head. For triplets, think "1-trip-let, 2-trip-let." For dotted rhythms, feel the longer note pulling into the shorter one.
Watch the timing scatter. If your dots cluster to the left, you are rushing. If they cluster right, you are dragging. Aim for a tight cluster right on the center line.
